ABOUT MOMENTUM
Momentum was created four summers ago with just a few children involved, it has flourished to now include over 40 children from ages 3-12.

Momentum was created by director Marianne Hollingsworth as a summer program to keep children from experiencing a loss of knowledge over the summer, sometimes known as 'the summer backslide'. The program assess the student at the start of their time in the program and again at the end to measure academic growth. Momentum uses Accelerated Math and Accelerated Reading to show group leaders, parents, and the children their academic gains throughout the program. Each child can learn and grow at their own pace in math and reading, while also learning about their theme each week. Themes such as, space, South Carolina history, storytelling, nature and animals, and bodies of water encourage students through crafts, research and activites to learn about a variety of subjects.
